\n International Restrictions:
\n *All travellers: Visitors are generally given 30 days to remain in Guyana, but extensions can usually be obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Georgetown. The Guyanese authorities are very severe on visitors who overstay or abuse the conditions of their stay. Conviction for overstaying will result in one year imprisonment, a fine of up to G$50,000 (Guyana dollars) and deportation - at the deportee\u2019s expense - upon release.
\nWith effect 18 June 2022, the Government of Guyana has announced the relaxation of testing requirements for COVID-19 for international travel.
\n*If you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19: Travellers 12 years and older are required to be fully vaccinated. You can enter Guyana without needing to quarantine. The following documents are required before travelling to Guyana:
\n\u2022 Proof of full vaccination
\nApproved vaccines include Sinovac, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca.
\nFor the purposes of these regulations, a person is only considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving:
\n1. An approved single-dose vaccine
\n2. The second dose of an approved two does vaccine or
\n3. Any mix-and-match combination of approved vaccines administered at least seventeen days apart
\n*Proof of vaccination status: \nGuyana will accept proof of COVID-19 recovery and vaccination record.
\n*If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19: \nIf you\u2019re not fully vaccinated, you will need to present an exemption letter from a doctor stating the reason for not being vaccinated. Additionally you will need to show proof of a negative PCR test or an approved negative antigen test taken no more than 72 hours before entering Guyana.
\n*If you have had COVID-19 in the past year: If you are not fully vaccinated but have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last year, you will need to present an exemption letter from a doctor stating the reason for not been vaccinated. Additionally you will need to show proof of a negative PCR test or an approved negative antigen test taken no more than 72hours before entering Guyana.
\n*Children and young people: Children aged 17 and under can follow the rules for fully vaccinated/unvaccinated travellers to enter Guyana.
\n*If you are transiting through Guyana: Guyana is not a transit point for travel.
\n*Exemptions: There are no current exemptions to entry requirements for travel to Guyana.\n

\nInternal Restrictions:
\n*Moving around in Guyana: Wearing a face mask is not mandatory. However, in order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, persons are encouraged by the Ministry of Public Health - Guyana to wear a mask when in public. There are no longer any curfew restrictions.\nWhere Coronavirus vaccination is a requirement, persons should show evidence that they are vaccinated.
